Y’all. Hold. The. Mother. Lovin. Phone.

I’ve been working on the perfect homemade scrub for like years. Literally. Hit the jackpot today and I’m so excited to share it. I love a good scrub with an oil base but it makes my bathtub slick, gets on clothes, etc.

Here goes, my semi-homemade body skin scrub recipe.

You’ll need:

1 cup of granulated sugar

40-50 pumps of neutrogena a hydro boost face wash

These are the base ingredients^^

To modify you can mix any blend of oils you like

20 drops of lemon essential oil (i use dōTERRA)

10 drops lavender essential oil

10 drops of rosemary essential oil

First, add the sugar to the bowl then add ten pumps of the wash at a time stirring with a whisk between each set of pumps.

This face wash has hydroponic acid which is a humectant (moisture binding agent) and helps your skin have a smooth, soft, and moisturized texture. This does not strip or peel the skin like other chemical peel or acid peel type products. It’s very calming and soothing to the skin.

If you’re like me and you like to get spray tans or use any kind of fake bake product you’ll know how important it is to have freshly exfoliated skin that is NOT greasy As to not prevent the tanning agent from absorbing into your skin. This scrub rinses completely clean and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh. I particularly love using it on areas prone to razor bumps also. I do use this scrub on my face, however i only use it every few days and i rub it into my hands for a few seconds before applying to my face to reduce the “grit” of the sugar.

If you like a more moisturizing scrub you can add one tablespoon of coconut oil to this blend to have a scrub that leaves your skin with a light layer of moisture.
